Eddie Izzard comes to Winnipeg
Earlier this week I had the chance to see one of the funniest topical comedians on the circuit. Eddie Izzard, for those of you who haven’t heard, is a comedian from Great Britain who has had several comedic movie roles over the past several years, including My Super Ex-Girlfriend and The Avengers. His comedy show Dress to Kill was been featured on HBO and his other comedy tours have also been recorded and sold on DVD. He is known for his current event laced humour which includes politics and religion.

I have a bit of a thing about grammar, spelling and pronunciation. Words are spelled and pronounced in a specific way for a reason... so that people can understand what you are saying. The following is a bit of a rant about the media and supposedly educated people. I am referencing the english language only, though I am sure that this happens in every language on the planet
The Cost of Climate Change
For those of you who haven’t seen the news over the last couple of years, it would appear that our planet is heating up. It’s not just that the overall temperature of the planet is increasing, it’s increasing at an alarming rate. That temperature change of 1 or 2 degrees average doesn’t seem like much, but that average is global. Temperatures closer to the equator haven’t changed all that much, but the temperatures at the poles has more than made up for that lack of change elsewhere.
The Carbon Sink is Clogged
According to the results of a 10 year study out of the English University of East Anglia, researchers have shown that the amount of CO2 being absorbed in the North Atlantic has been reduced by 50% between 1995 and 2005. Scientists are suggesting strongly that if the oceans can no longer absorb the amount of CO2 that it use to, global warming may accelerate as the largest Carbon Sink stops processing CO2.

As someone who grew up in a town where the primary employer was Atomic Energy Canada Limited, I learned a few things about nuclear energy. I am by no means a nuclear physicist so I am no expert, but I did learn a few things about nuclear power and radiation.
